I can't believe that the Holidays are upon us again. This year has flown by. Since I last posted on my blog, a lot has been going on. We still have our giant dog, Gunther (more on that in an upcoming post), and we have been going through the college application process with our son lately. Let me tell you, that is not a very pleasant experience. I liken it to purchasing a home. Cost as much or more, but you have to come up with more money quicker and the mortgage is a heck of a lot shorter. We are in, "praying for scholarship money", mode. Because all the colleges he is interested in, haven't offered him any scholarships and all the schools he could care less about attending have offered him "full ride" scholarships. It is maddening, I tell you. I am so happy that we won't have to go through this again for a least another 6-7 years.
I have also been having some health issues lately.I switched hospitals and they are running every test that can be run on a person. It is pretty stressful, but I am thankful that at least it seems I have some doctors that are trying to help me feel better. Of course when you start digging, sometimes you find things you didn't want to find. More about that later also.
On a lighter note. I am fixing Thanksgiving dinner this year. Even though this in itself is not news, I am excited about it because I am making the turkey and I never make the turkey. My mom always makes it. I really wanted to give her a break and make the meal. She will be adding a few dishes, but the bulk of the meal will be made by yours truly. I am enlisting the help of my husband and sons to get everything done. That should be fun. We are celebrating Thanksgiving on Wednesday this year because my hubby has to work on Thursday. I am starting to prep my dishes starting this Saturday so I don't stress myself out too much. I am making Turkey, Dressing, Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, and some Cakes and Pies.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
